Exhibiting at the Las Vegas Convention Center: What Every Exhibitor Should Know
Why the LVCC Is the Heart of Las Vegas Trade Shows
The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is one of the largest and busiest convention complexes in the world, hosting industry giants such as CES, NAB Show, and SEMA Show. Spanning millions of square feet across the West, Central, and South Halls, the LVCC continues to expand its reach.
In 2025, the North Hall is undergoing a major renovation and expansion, increasing total facility capacity to roughly 2.5 million square feet. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, this project is expected to drive additional tourism and larger-scale events for years to come (source).
For more than 15 years, Summit Exhibit has managed turnkey booth programs throughout the LVCC, combining creative exhibit design, flawless logistics, and an ISO 14001-certified system to deliver efficient and sustainable exhibits.
Step 1 – Material Handling & Freight Access
Exhibitors may hand-carry small items into the hall, but no access is allowed through loading docks or freight doors. All freight and palletized shipments must be handled through the official general contractor (GC).
Quick Facts:
Hand Carry: Allowed by hand only - no dollies or pallet jacks.
Union Rules: No set union ratio for hand carry, but GC labor is required for freight handling.
Summit Exhibit works directly with Freeman, GES, and LVCC operations to schedule deliveries and move-in windows that keep your timeline on track.
Step 2 – Choose the Right Booth Space and Plan for Layout Early
Unlike some venues, exhibitors at the LVCC cannot perform booth construction or use tools on the show floor. You may supervise installation, but must use authorized labor for all setup and dismantle activity.
Pro Tip:
Summit Exhibit’ Las Vegas teams coordinate EAC crews and show labor to maintain compliance with LVCC rules - so you can focus on client engagement instead of crew scheduling.
Step 3 – Electrical Services & Power Guidelines
Power is provided from both floor ports and ceiling drops, depending on your hall and booth location.
Under-carpet cabling: Not allowed - only licensed electricians may install cords.
Above-carpet cabling: Also restricted to electricians for safety and compliance.
Plug-in equipment: Exhibitors may connect up to (1) 20-amp receptacle and hang as many as (4) clip-on lights per booth. Wall brackets may be installed by EACs, but all AV installs must be handled by electricians. (Read the show kit for final information!)
Summit Exhibit pre-plans power needs and service orders to prevent costly delays on site.
Step 4 – Rigging & Signage
Overhead rigging and hanging-sign installation are managed exclusively by the general contractor’s certified rigging team. EACs cannot assemble or install any overhead signage.
Summit Exhibit’ design and engineering teams prepare rig-ready signage packages that meet LVCC safety requirements and gain advance approval before arrival.
Step 5 – Cleaning & Booth Maintenance
Spot cleaning during installation is permitted, but full booth carpet cleaning must be handled by the general contractor. Summit Exhibit coordinates all cleaning orders so your booth looks show-ready each morning.
Step 6 – Equipment & On-Site Support
Equipment rentals such as Genie lifts vary by GC and event rules. Summit Exhibit owns (2) 18-foot and (1) 24-foot lifts available for rental when permitted by the show contractor. Our trained field team ensures safe, certified operation for any approved equipment.
